OFF THE RADAR FESTIVAL
TE ARAI / NEW ZEALAND
Rethinking the idea of creating light and stage effects without needing big power supplies or electronic devices we built four big panels as stage-backdrop. Each panel was made from hundreds of tiny round mirrors plates, manually pinned on the wooden black base panels. In total, there were 6300 mirrors that moved randomly in the wind, reflecting the sun and stage light and creating a very glamorous and lively atmosphere while forming a very strict and mathematical grid. To complete the disco feeling, a large disco ball had been put up on the opposite side of the festival ground.
